About an order

Trying to change shipping address of a book I ordered from Alibris listing you as seller. They told me I had to notify the seller. This was 1/2 hr ago. I'm just going around in circles with this (and you. It should have been simple. What is happening?

They changed the courier and I did receive the package. This company not provided me the original tracking number; this was the problem.

Resolved: Never, EVER, Buy Anything from this Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Nov 28, 2018

UPDATE: On November 21, 2018, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (via their website at: https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/nature-of-complaint/) regarding the fact that I had not received the book I had ordered as well as the fact that INDOO.COM had NOT replied to my inquiries regarding the whereabouts of this item (which was supposedly shipped to me by this company on October 31, 2018). On the complaint form, I indicated that I wanted a full refund for this item.

On November 25, 2018, I called Half Price Books (HPB.COM) to let them know that I had not received this book which I had ordered through them on October 29, 2018. (INDOO.COM is one of HPB's third party sellers.) On November 27, 2018, the Better Business Bureau emailed me to let me know that they had contacted INDOO.COM regarding this matter. Fourteen hours after I received this notification from the BBB, I was notified by HPB that a FULL REFUND had been issued to me. Finally.

The moral of this story is simple: Do NOT buy anything from INDOO.COM.

And if you do, be prepared: Keep the link to the Better Business Bureau's Complaint website (provided above) handy. You are going to need it.

Original review Nov 21, 2018
On October 29, 2018, I ordered the following book: _Mapping Europe's Borderlands_ by Steven Seegel from the Half Price Books (hpb.com) online Marketplace. The seller of this item was indoo.com. On October 31, 2018, I received an email from hpb.com, informing me that the book I ordered had been shipped. No tracking information was provided to me. (Gee, what a surprise.) It is now November 21, 2018. And, as you have probably already figured out, I have not received the ordered book. On November 17, 2018, I sent two emails to indoo.com. For the first one, I used a form from their website. For the second, I used the email address for questions about orders provided on their website, namely order@***.com. The first message went unanswered. The second message was rejected. IMMEDIATELY. I then sent another email to indoo.com, using yet another email address provided on their website, namely support@***.com. Needless to say, no response to my inquiry regarding the whereabouts of the ordered book was ever sent. And, now, after reading all the complaints about indoo.com on this platform, I realize that, once I saw that indoo.com was listed as the vendor for the book I wanted to buy, I should have never made this purchase via the hpb.com. Sigh. So now I shall have to try to get a refund for the book I ordered (and will never EVER receive) from Half Price Books. Wish me luck. I am going to need it. In spades.

Bad booksellers/stay away

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have ordered 3 books from Indoo via Alibris, 3 different orders. I love Alibris, and have always had a good experience with their sellers. I have not received anything from indoo, and when I contact customer service they say that the book ordered was returned to them because of an insufficient mailing address....which is a bunch of baloney. When I emailI them back to ask them to confirm the address they won’t answer my inquiries and say they will only send me a partial refund because the post office charged them to return it. Stay away from Indoo. Tell your friends to stay away. They give honest booksellers a bad name.

I had a similar bad experience with this company. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau via the following link: https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/nature-of-complaint/ And guess what?

On the very same day that the BBB notified Indoo about the fact that I had NOT received the book I had ordered from them, a FULL REFUND was issued to me. So, if you want your money back, contact the BBB.

They really do get results! Thank you.

My son finally got the book on 6/26, and textbooks.com assisted in returning to Indoo. Textbooks.com asked for my tracking number and was in contact with Indoo to make sure I got a refund.

I ordered the book on 6/5, and googled indoo afterward-my mistake. I found the publisher was only $5 more, and idoo had horrible reviews.

On 6/6, I sent an email to idoo requesting cancellation of the order. On 6/8, I got an email from textbooks.com that the order...

Original review Jun 20, 2018
I placed an order through textbooks.com whose website said standard shipping is 2-7 business days. When I checked out, standard shipping was the only option available, and it said 6-10 business days because I was ordering from one of their vendors (Indoo).

So it has been 12 days since I was told the item shipped and still no book. On the day of shipment, I contacted Indoo to get a tracking number but have been totally ignored. Who sends a $151 textbook without tracking and insurance? Scammers do!!

I contacted textbooks.com and was told 6-18 business days, and it will not be considered 'late' for another 13 days because they don't include weekends in their tally. AVOID Indoo. I wish I had googled their company before I ordered.

Now, to contact my credit card company to file a complaint. (McGraw Hill, the publisher, offers the same book for $5 more so don't try to save a few bucks--not worth the headache)

Slow poke shipping

It took 12 days beyond the ship date to receive my book. I'm paying for the shipping. This was ridiculous. Attempts to reach the company result in a computer generated: "It's on it's way." The Pony Express could have delivered it faster.

The same as everyone else!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The first time I tried to contact them to receive a tracking number for my package, and they gave a generic answer. Then I tried a second time, waited 2-3 days and still no response.

I waited 5 days to come to the conclusion that something isn't right, so I decided to check their reviews, and I discovered message boards such as these that solidified the idea that they are fraudsters. I called my credit card company today to report them and I'm going to go further into this complaint because I refuse to ignore this scam.

I want to leave this review to help others, so I can reduce some of the scamming going on in the cyber world. Don't buy from these people; everything about them is shady!

Misled by Barnes and Noble Reviews

I ordered a book from them through Barnes and Noble marketplace, because B and N displays their customer satisfaction rating as 3.8. I didn't think to follow up on the reviews, having never been ripped off by Barnes and Noble before. Not only did it take forever for them to ship the thing I ordered, but they didn't include a receipt or much of anything and packaging was so sketchy. Furthermore, I thought I was ordering a printed book, and they sent me an audiobook instead. I tried contacting them, requesting information for how to go about an exchange for the printed version, and they sent me an extremely rudely worded message about how I should contact my post office if the package is lost. I attempted to write them again requesting an exchange or return, and they blocked my email address. I'm following up with Barnes and Noble now. But I don't understand how their rating system has them flagged as 3.8 when at least 9 pages of the seller's reviews are angry, 1-star reviews dating back to 2015. This makes me think twice about ever patronizing Barnes and Noble again too.

Disappointed with the way they avoid responding to complaints and deny refunds and etc. through avoidance.

All companies should discontinue doing business with them (Amazon in my case). Took forever to find a phone number and got a "leave a message".

As of today, issue not settled. NO BOOK AND NO REFUND.

Indoo - Do not buy from this seller
If you are here it's probably too late. I ordered the book set:Heroes of Olympus on 11/29 from the marketplace on Barnes & Noble website. Weeks go by and no book. I search my email for confirmation aand find nothing. Only proof of purchase I have is the charge to Barnes & Noble on my bank statement. I call Barnes & Noble customer service (12/19) and after providing my cc number my order was found. I was told the books had shipped in the first and that I could expect them the next day 12/20. Welp the 20th,came and went so I called back on the 21st and was told I had to message to seller myself and ask for a tracking number and to give them up to three days to respond. A whole day goes by w no response so I call Barnes and Noble back and explain that I am picking up the books myself from their Peabody location and would like a refund. I was told I need to give indoo more time to respond and the books have up to five days to get here before they start the refund process. So I think whatever what can I do, until I Googled indoo. Com, and read accounts of my exact situation (one poster even had the same dates as me) and checked out their bbb rating. I called Barnes and Noble again this morning explaining what I read and that they better not expect me to wait around for indoo. Com to get their *** together and just give me my money. Barnes and Noble agreed (which was shocking bc so many others haven't had this issue resolved) and I will be getting a full refund. Not from indoo. Com, but Barnes and Noble. I would also like to note that indoo. Com did reply to me from a different email address and when I tried to reply the email was bounced back to me as undeliverable.

Don't buy from Indoo

Book purchased from seller located 20 miles away did not arrive for several days. Emailed them three times for tracking number. Each time Indoo sent generic response stating book was sent on the 13th. Book arrived on the 23rd. Tracking number on it indicated that book was put into the mail on the 20th. THEY LIED. ABE books does not allow reviews. Too bad for their customers. I don't have anything more to say so am repeating the above to get the required 100 words so this will be posted. Dear Barnes & Noble - Drop this Marketplace Supplier

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In all my life, I have never seen such incompetent customer service. I ordered a book from Barnes & Noble (NOT these idiots) nd I got referred to them. Apparently, they were my "marketplace supplier". Okay, whatever...would have been nice to hear about this a little sooner than A FULL WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT. So, I take that up with them - I ask them why it's taking them so long to put ONE BOOK in a box and ship it from New Jersey to Massachusetts. I get a copy+paste response that refers to me simply as "customer" and tells me that my order shipped...but I don't get a tracking number. In what way does it make any sense to tell a customer that their order has "shipped," but not provide a tracking number? Meanwhile, I'm sat here, three days after their alleged ship date, and I have received neither my book nor a tracking number from Indoo. I try to e-mail them using the address that B&N gave me, I get no reply. I try to e-mail them using the address that they sent me their solitary e-mail from, it bounces back and tells me that my message can't be delivered because "the remote server is misconfigured". Barnes & Noble - if you're reading this, stop keeping this punchline of a company afloat. Regardless of what they sell, they're a terrible excuse for a company, and I can clearly see that I'm not alone in that sentiment. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, this is the most inept company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Terrible Shipping and customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I ordered a book in the beginning of October and now it is November. I still have yet to receive my book from Indoo. Customer service continues to send me the same excuse that it was shipped but refuses to provide me tracking. I had to go dispute it with my credit card. Further more the company they sold it through, Barnes and Nobles, refuses to do anything about it because they claimed they shipped it. Even with BN involved indoo refuses to provide any sort of proof that it was shipped. Do NOT order from this company. Save yourself the grief and buy from somewhere else.
